Hello All,

Thank you 12volt for a great site.

I had a Hornet 563T installed in my 2000 Astro Van, which does not have power door locks. I see that the alarm can also access power locks, my question is what do I need to install the door locks? And I did not get the install manual with it, so what wires do I hook the locks up to.

Thanks for all your time and help with this

P.S. I seen this on Ebay 2-PACK of HEAVY DUTY DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS LIKE 524N. Will this work to lock and unlock the doors, and should I put a 12v relay to activate the actuators? or will the 563T handle this?

Again thanks for your help.

Paul

Your 563T will need 2 relays to move aftermarket actuators. You would follow the diagram here for wiring the relays. The manual for the 563T can be found here. You will only need to pay attention to the negative door lock outputs from the 563T to trigger the relays.
You did not list the actual item number with your Ebay reference, however I am sure that they would work fine. Just keep in mind that they can be a pain to put in, so I would recommend a quality product to avoid having to take the doors apart in the future.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck!

Why not try finding the 524N instead of something listed as 'just like the 524N'? There are some on Ebay and are the same price.
The one that you are looking at looks identical and may even be from the same factory with the same specs, but if you can buy the brand name for the same price why not buy the brand name?

I did get the 524N and the 451M relay kit. I started to install it today, I did the drive side and it works great. I had to pull the unit down to install the little white cable from the 451M and now the alarm will not work the status light is on all the time when the key ignition is off and ideas what would cause this???

Paul

P.S. I did look at all connections and it looks ok
