Adding a Alarm to a R/S Keyless Entry

does the audiovox have a remote start activate input. if so just use an aux ch on the hornet to control the audiovox RS. then no need to sue the audioovx remotes.

just found the install guide for it. yes it has an external input. dark blue/black wire in the 3 pin input/output harness, needs a gound pulse.

yea the input trigger would work for the remote start but you will still have to rewire the hornet to do the lock/unlock rather than the audiovox. i think it would probably be more feasible to just get an all in one alarm/keyless/remote start. but either way the majority of the wiring is already been found so i guess the input trigger wouldn't be to bad as long as you have enough room for the extra brain under the dash. good luck. yea you would definitely have to use the new alarm's lock and unlock to control that portion and use the existing RS/keyless as a RS only. that way you can use the input trigger to the RS to activate it and everything else would be controlled and monitored thru the new alarm."I cannot teach anybody anything, I can only make them think."

The best way for the customer would be to install a "keyless upgrade" alarm like an Audiovox PRO-9232A, DEI Hornet 700T/Automate AM1, or similar. That way, when they use the Audiovox remote to lock or unlock, it'll also arm or disarm the alarm...simple. swamprat323's method would also work----use the new alarm's trunk-pop output to trigger the Audiovox's blue/black start activation input............but unless the alarm has a long-range, windshield-mounted antenna, the customer might not be happy with the range. If you are an Audiovox dealer, or have access to their product, many of the plugs from the PRO-9275T remote starter, and the PRO-9775T/Prestige APS-786T are compatible............the main ignition wires, antenna, and doorlocks would plug right in.......there would be just a few wires you'd have to cut and re-splice (ground, brake, parking lights, tach)..........and then move on and connect your door trigger, shock sensor, starter kill, and LED.
