hello everyone,

i am currently installing a remote starter/ alarm into my 2000 nissan maxima, so far everything is connected.  everything works except the remote start function, i think my problem may be that im not connecting the bypass module correctly. ive never installed one like this and dont know how to apply that ring from the 556u, what happens is i press the start button on the remote, the car seems to go to ACC/ON and then it clicks off in about 1 -2 seconds no cranking begins. please let me know what possible solutions i can try or anything. i appreciate any help.

Thank you,

DAve

To verify that the problem is with your transponder bypass, simply leave a working key in the vehicle's ignition in the off position and try to remote start the vehicle. If the vehicle starts and runs then you know the bypass is where your problem lies. If the car does not start up and run then you will need to recheck your wiring at the ignition.
Hope this helps.

Dave, have you also checked to see if the STARTER output is infact sending a 12 volt signal to the starter wire that you have ? Make sure that you didn't wire the starter disable relay backwards.

--Even if the transponder bypass is wrong, Nissans will still crank; they just won't start.
--If you have any doubts at all about the bypass, simply unplug it, stick a key in the ignition, and try to remote-start the car.
--Have you powered up both starter wires in the Nissan?

You need too hook up both starters. Also make sure your starter wires arn't backwards if you did a starter kill/antigrind.

Try this run your start directly from the remote start BLACK/ dark red I believe this is the primary start wire  the BLACK/ blue is for cold start up, but for testing try the blk/ dark rd. Have you learned the tach before trying to remote start?
