Im looking to run my remote start with the most basic install. I have done stereo, fog lights and a few oterh electrical installs but this seems a little intimidating getting under the dash.
i plan to solder everything in, thats the correct way, right?
Here is the diagram that came with my remote start. Can I just connect the critical wires to get this thing in quicjly or does everything have its own porpuse?
i.e. im not going to mind if it only unlocks the front driver door. Can i avoid connecting the heater lines if I plan to jst leave the heat on when I get out of the car?
Dont have much experince so IM not sure what you can skimp on in this type of setup. thank you.
also this is what came in the kit:
1-main control module, 1- three button remote transmitter, 1- 6 pin ignition harness, 1-5 pin harness, 1-8 pin harness, 1-2 pin valet switch, 1-3 [in antenna harness, 1 3-pin door lock harness, 1 hood switch, 1 hood and window decal.
THis is my first post and hope I didnt do anything incorrectly. Im a complete newbie to remote starters. I m currently browising throught the info on this site, thank you.

Interface Module:Category:
Immobilizer Bypass
Required:
Yes
Type:
Sentry Key
Part #: 555CW
Alternate Part1 #: 556UW

First you will need a bypass for the immobilizer if you have a gray keyhead. If the key is black, your ok, not needed. Second, locks are a pain because you have to run wires into both front doors. You can spend a little cash and buy an interface like the DEI 455J and save yourself some time and trouble. This will not only lock the doors for you but also interface the factory alarm if you have one...

Awsome, this is exptremely helpful. Would I be able to not hook up the lock/unlock feature until I buy the DEI 455J interface? I figure I can can wire the whole thing up then do the locks when the part comes.

You can do it that way. The 455J will need power and ground, plus a wire from the OBD2 connector under the dash...

i actually got rid of the shelvy sytem and hooked up a Valet 561T Remote start, which i added on to my existing stock setup. I actually like it becasue i can use my stock keyless entry. My question is how can I extend the reach on my stock keyless remote. I just cut into the wire and am not wure where the transmitter would be for this.
