i'm really interested in getting one of the aduiovox cl100 for my camry 2007 that has factory remote starter so that i can start my car from the gps feature's 1-800#.  from what i've found on the internet i need:

CL100 (part number ASPTUGM)

CAUGM for factory starter applications

Do I have this right?  I've seen others like CL100A and other letter combinations so I'm wondering if they're all the same or different.  Anything really special about installing one of these on a 2007 Camry?  Any wiring or install manuals anywhere I can find?

It's my first post here.  Looks like a great forum!

We deal with the Carlink(CL100) and they are neat. They have been out for years and work well. The issue they continue to have is the service. They contract the operation to small companies that answer the 1-800# and these operators can be a bit of a pain. They tend not to always have enough help on hand and you may get no answer in busy times. Tho it's not terrible it can be annoying considering you are paying a monthly service. Other neat features are GPS unlock(like Onstar) and starter shut down.

The next question is, can the factory RS in the Camry be started with a single negative pulse?

Everywhere I read it says it has lifetime activated service with no monthly fees.  Isn't the 800 number also all prompted with no operators?  Let me know if I'm wrong, this is all I've read online so far.

Not sure about the single pulse for the Camry.  Anyone else know?

What other pulses/signals does the unit send out for the other options like door unlock, etc?

if your factory system has an input for the remote start. got to find out if your factory has an input pulse to start the car.

I would say you are out of luck unless you add a complete aftermarket remote start, or unless the "factory" one you have is really a dealer installed aftermarket. I really doubt the OEM one is gonna have a start input waiting for you to tap into.

I'm with NowYaKnow on this one.
---All that the CL100 can do is put out computerized data pulses after you call on the telephone..........when you plug it into a compatible Audiovox alarm or remote starter, it "reads" the data and starts the car.
---I haven't personally worked with the CAUGM before. But I believe what it does is, it "reads" the data from the CL100............and then there's an an output that simply makes a momentary straight ground after you make the phone call.
---Many remote starters have an "activation input"---apply a momentary ground to the input, and the remote starter kicks in.
So, if you already had a non-Audiovox remote starter----say, a Viper or something-----you could buy the CL100, the CAUGM, and connect the CAUGM's output to the Viper's input........and that turns on your remote start.
But, I couldn't imagine the factory Toyota remote starter having any kind of activation input.
----Nothing is 100% impossible. You could take apart one of your factory remotes, solder wires onto the circuit board that trigger the "lock" button.
Buy or build some type of timer thingy that'll give it the "press, press, hold" that Toyota requires.
Use the CAUGM to activate your timer thingy.
Again, not impossible, but costly and time-consuming. It would probably be less expensive just to get an Audiovox remote starter, CL100, and skip the CAUGM altogether.
