Hey all, just wondering if someone can clear this up for me. Have been reading the posts on the 2005 Mazda 3, and there seems to be some different info on the locks. Can anyone tell me if the lock and unlock wires will arm and disarm the factory alarm,or will the factory arm and disarm wires work the locks as well. Or do you need to do the 4 connections using both the lock/unlock wires and the factory arm and disarm wires. Hope that question did not sound to confusing, and any help would be appreciated.

                Thank-you in advance

DEI lists:
Factory Alarm Arm      BLACK/ blue       -       driver kick, door harness
Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.
This wire may also lock the doors.
Factory Alarm Disarm      BLACK/ white       -       driver kick, door harness
Notes: Meter this wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.
This wire may also unlock the doors.
Evidentially there are different versions of the car that some will and some will not arm/disarm with. If you are trying to do the least amount of work, try using the arm disarm wires, if the doors lock and unlock you are done. If they do not, you will have to do four wires.

Hey All, Could anyone tell me if All 2005 Mazda 3's have factory alarm. I know they have anti theft but was curious if they are indeed equiped with factory alarm as well.  Is the best way to just lock the doors, reach in and open a door to see if the horn sounds. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

                            Thank-you in advance

just lock the doors from the remote, let it sit for about 10 secs, reach in and open the doors, if the horn sounds then you have a factory alarm2005 mazda 3, alarm, locks -- posted image.
