I installed a remote starter in a 2002 sebring without factory alarm. Everything works fine, I have not tapped into the lock/unlock wire, everything is stock but if the car sits for a while and is started with the remote, the horn will honk one time, very annoying. Is there anything that can be done to eliminate this? It is a prostart(canadian)model 3310.

I would say the car does have a factory alarm because thats what chryslers do if you remote start them with the alarm armed. Might want to double check that.

I agree, if you don't get a factory disarm wire and hook it up it will blow the horn when the ignition turns on from the remote start. No doubt about it, you need to connect that wire to stop the problem...

so I would just have to hook up the disarm wire? I can I tell for sure if it has a factory alarm?

"" I can I tell for sure if it has a factory alarm?""

Easy, it will honk the horn if you remote start it :)......

You can lock the door with the key and wait 2 minutes, then open the door using the plunger inside the car. The horn will honk because there's really no question that it has one. You don't mention whether it's a covertable, 2 door, or 4 door. They are different.....

In any case, yes you need to pulse the disarm wire before start...

yea, ok, there is an alarm, and I'm really alarmed at that. No blinking lights , nothing. Thanks for the help, kids.
