prostart ct 3300, 95 pontiac grand am

I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand-am 4dr 3.1 litre.

Looking to connect the Pro Start CT-3300 Remote car starter. I have the wiring diagram here however the only circuit I care to use is the remote start and door lock/unlock

Im not sure what the 5th relay is referring to, or the EXT Trigger input.

Where is a good place to store this device (under dash?) I thought I would see what others do before I venture on my own here, why re-create the wheel.

any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Since its really cold outside the quicker the install the better.

well, if you have never tried doing a remote starter before, i wouldn't suggest it. time is money and since it will probably take you a while, you may be better off taking it somewhere to get it professionaly installed. in case you plan on doing it yourself regardless i'll help you out anyways. luckily enough for you, it happens to be one of the most user-friendly units availible. with prostart, you will need the big main harness, the 5pin harness, and you will only need 3 wires on the 3rd harness with many wires. You will only need the white(ground out when running) to be used with the passlock bypass, the green (unlock), and the brown (lock). the others you can cut and tape up. a good place is somewhere SECURED under the dash. get some cable ties and put it somewhere secure so it won't fall under your brake pedal for example while your driving. also try and make it accessible so if you need to add or change something in the future. Keep in mind that it is very hard to do remote starters when its cold outside. the wires get very brittle and brake easily when you strip them, especially the smaller guage wires. if you HAVE to do it outside, leave the car running for a while before you do it. Again, i would really suggest taking it to a shop. it will save you many headaches and save you quite a bit of time....good luck

Battery +12v - red

Ignition 1 - Pink

Ignition 2 - Blue (not every car has this. If you do use the 5th relay Green wire) Put jumper to Ignition.

Starter - Yellow

Accessory - Orange

Doorlocks are Lt.blue for lock and white for unlock. However these are pos. polarity and your remote module puts out a neg pulse. You'll need 2 relay to convert that.

Hide the unit under the dash somewhere. Don't forget you'll need to run the purple and grey wires (tach and hood pin) thru the firewall and under the hood. Tach wire is white on the engine coil.

You don't need the ext trigger wire.

2 more relay's needed for the unlock/lock circuits? why wouldnt they be provided with the unit then?

Im doing this in a Heated Garage now, too darn cold out ( -32)

Going to install a CT-3300 prostart Remote Starter with Lock/unlock. From the reading in the forums I notice not all wires are needed.

Im installing this in a Pontiac Grand-am (1995) 4dr 3.1 litre, I have experience with automotive wiring, and wanted to only hook up what is needed.

The 6 pin harness on the RS unit is : Yel (ign), Red (12v Batt), Orange (accessories), Purple (Starter), Green (5th Relay), Red (12 volt Battery)  : is the Org and Green needed? 

The 5 pin harness on the RS unit is: Black (gnd), Purple (Tach), Grey (Hood SW.) Orange (brake sw), Yellow (Parking Lights)  : all are needed(?)

The 12 pin harness on the RS unit is: Blue(trunk), Brown(lock), Green(unlock), wht/brn (re-arm), wht/grn (disarm), blu/wht (Aux1), wht/org(start kill), Org(neg. prking lights), Purple (EXT, Trigger), Wht (gnd - when running), Grey (n/a), Yellow (Glow plug) : Just need the Lock/Unlock here I would suppose (what about relay? any model number to use, never hooked up a relay before).

Just the Start, Lock and Unlock is the only circuits I really need for this car. Trunk is a cable not motor

Any and all help/suggestions would be appreciated.

yes you need all wire of 5 and 6 harness wire    use the green wire for the 2e ignition

you need 2 relay for doorlock to inverse polarity
