i am doing an avital 4100 in an 06 explorer xlt. is it really needed to go to the battery for this unit? If i go to ignition switch for constant, what will result? Whats up with the diodes on thelock and unlock wires? How is this wired? cut the wire or place on the blue and green wires? Please show a diagram. Anything i should know extra- i used search and i think everythings covered there.
thanks
chris

I did an 06 Explorer last month. Did not need to go to the battery, I use negative triggers wherever possible to keep the draw down to a minimum. The system I did was a 4100 but I used the factory key fobs as the owner requested. Simple install in my opinion. Here is what DEI lists for that vehicle, they make no mention of requiring diodes for door locks.
