I recently pulled a Karr alarm out of a '01 Prelude.  I think it is the 2040 or something, but I'm not really sure, it has a 14pin connector, 1 4pin connector, 3 2pin connectors.  I was able to pull the wiring schematic from this website, thanks to everybody for it.  I'm installing it in my 95 Eclipse GSX, so I'm running a little blind, but not too bad.  My first question is what do the 6 dip switches do.  Second, is what options can I program with the valet switch.  Third, I bought a transponder on eBay for it and I'm trying to program it.  I pulled the box apart and it doesn't appear to have a reciever inside.  Does this alarm have a reciever to program the transmitter too?  I tried programming it using the directions from Karr Security website, but it will not work.  Do I need to have factory keyless entry on my Eclipse for this style of Karr system to work?  Did I buy the incorrect transmitter?  It seems to be the only one available.  I can post a picture of the box if that will help anybody identify which alarm it really is.  Thanks to any Karr installers who can help me out.  Thanks again.

This what I've found so far just by experimenting with the switches.  Switch 3 is to pulse the horn output.  But that is about it.  When I found the unit, Switches 3 and 4 were on, the rest were off.  Can anybody please point me in the right direction?

I also found that I cannot get the unit to reset after I power it up.  I apply power, the alarm goes off for 30 seconds, stops and then the LED still continues to blink.  I'm thinking that I can't program the transmitter to the brain because I can't get the brain out of alarm.  Does this sound right?  The valet switch is working because I can get it to switch between horn conformation for alarm/disarm.  Turn the key on then off, hit valet 3 times.  Horn output relay clicks.  How do I reset the alarm with the valet switch.  I know there must be some code you need to hit, but I don't know what it is.

More investigation.  Switch 8 allows the alarm to trigger on ignition input.  Also the alarm is always alarmed.  When I activate it by either the door or ignition, the LED blinks the corresponding zone.  But the alarm will not disarm, it just eventually silences.  Just more info for anybody to help.

That unit is not a 2040 but a 4040 and it's designed to be installed over a factory keyless entry system. If you have the factory fobs that operate your power door locks, then you can use this alarm. It's operated through the four pin connector that taps onto the power door lock actuator motor wires.

Youngblood, thanks a lot for your expertise.  I had no idea which alarm brain it was.  Now I'm probably going to install this in our 06 4Runner that has keyless entry.  So the next question is:  How can I reset the brain to factory defaults (i.e. valet switch default value), what settings should I use on the dip switches, and will I have to wire this differently with the factory keyless.  I guessing no on the last one.  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

From the pic you posted it looks like the 2040 system. Do you have the cover to it? It should say it on there is the cover is gray.
A little trick to reset the brain would be to grab a long thin piece of metal of somesort   and making it touch all the pins to the alarm. A lot of karr alarm installers do this.
To reset the alarm while it goes off when its installed you turn the key to ignition on, and hit the valet button 3 times. You may want to try a different switch if it doesn't work cause the wires from the led pod tend to break inside the black tubing.
