94 saab 9000 remote start problem

I have the new viper 5900 alarm and remote starter.After I find the tach wire.I did the tach learning with the car running and pressing the valet button until the led stay solid.But after that I tried to start with the remote and the car would only crank nonstop and the car doesnt start at all.Any suggestion

Just to make sure you have all of your other connections correct, set the unit to voltage sensing and set your crank time to 1 second. If the vehicle starts and runs you know the problem is with that tach connection and you will need to find another. If it does not start and run your problem is elsewhere.

How do I go back and set it to sense the voltage?

Keep in mind I only recommend this for troubleshooting. A tachometer connection is the best way to go for that vehicle. Take a look at your installation manual in the programming charts. Options 3-2, 3-5, and 3-6.

Okay Thanks for the info.Also is there a way I can reset the whole alarm /remote starter back to the factory default setting and start all over?

Okay I tried the voltage and it did start acouple time and somtime it doesnt.So I dont know what the problem is now.So I set it back to tach sense and tried the tach learning again and the led never came on.What am I doing wrong here?
