The system has been installed for over 2 years, no problems.  Today I shut the car off to get gas and when I went to start it with the key it didn't start, no click no anything - but the accessories turn on and the door locks all click open??

If I use the remote starter then it works fine, I pop the key in the ignition and off I go.  If the key isn't in the ignition the system shuts down like it is supposed to.

If I disconnect the main harness  to the brain, and the harness to the xtreme relay box and jumper the yellow wire (it looks like the only one which is cut) then the car still doesn't start.

Any ideas??

Disconnect the relay pack from the ribbon.  Try to turn on the car.  If it doesnt turn then its most likey the relay pack that is defective. Reason being is that it starts with the remote is because the relay pack supplies power to the starter.  It may be that when the car is off the starter cut off wire which is green and purple are  are not connected to each other.  What you can do to test this is to use a DMM to test if both wires are connected to each other when the car is not armed and off.  with the DMM use the ohm setting connect the black to either side and the red to the other and see if it gives a read.  When armed it shouldn't give you any read but when its disarmed it should.  You may need a new relay pack.  Good Luck

Thanks,  Is the ribbon the large gauge wires which are soldered to the relay pack and connected with the large harness?  Or is this the smaller gauge wires which plug to the pack?

Either way, I have no resistance when armed or not.  (I am testing at the point where the green and purple are connecting to the car's yellow starter wire)  Either way the car doesnt start with the key, I even jumped the green and purple to ensure connection.  If I disconnect the lage gauge harness to get a measure of just the relay pack (taking the car out of the equation) then I cannot arm or disarm the car.

When trying to start the car with the key I see 0.3v on the starter wire.  When starting with the remote I get the 12v.

Perhaps this is ignition switch issue and not a problem with the viper unit?  I see no popped fuses.

Any lights (ABS, Air bag, check engine) on after you remote start the truck?
Do the pink/black and RED / lt.blue wire in the trucks ignition harness still have constant 12v?

if having the green and purple wire tested with the DMM do not give you resistance then connect the green to purple and get yourself another relay pack.  Just make sure that when you are testing it to unplug the small ribbon connected to the relay pack.

Enice, No resistance between the green and purple with the small harness disconnected.

If I jumper the green and purple the car still wont start with the key. (with the small harness connected or disconnected and also with the large relay harness connected or disconnected)

The car will start if I put the key in the ignition and jumper the purple to 12v.

Cut the green wire and cut the purple wire and connect to each other (ign side not relay pack side)and leave it connected.  Now try turning on the car.  it should turn on since it turned on with the remote start.  Also do not jump wires, you can do more harm then actually good.
