Alarm system in my '94 BMW 318i died on me. Would like to replace it with something that will plug into existing harness, from an Alpine SEC-8052. Any advice is appreciated.

Hey Swerk, you're local. i'm in Innisfail, just lokking for a new unit that will plug into my existing harness with a minimum of hassle. I don't feel like pulling the interior apart to track everything down if I don't have to . If youknow of something, reply, and we'll talk.

If the alarm brain is the problem and the other wires work you can just test and cut from old brain and add a new alarm without taking the car apart, most aftermarket alarms have the same wires anyways.

I don't have a manual,so I can't test anything. It may just be the remote that died. Anybody familiar with test procedures, I'm all ears.
