I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Diamante LS and have installled a remote start/alarm.  For some reason I can't get the car to start correctly.  If I press the remote start the car will crank but won't stay running.  If I put the key next to the ignition switch the same thing happens, but if I put the key in the ignition (and don't turn it) then the car will start and run.  I was told that the light green wire on the ignition switch is the keysense wire (on the module I used the light green wire to attach to the ignition switch) and I am using the DEI 555U bypass module.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

You have to have the key in the box located in the sweet spot and also you have to have enough loops around the key cylinder to properly induce the code to the immobilizer. Wrap more of the wire around the cylinder and try it again.

The poin about cranking does point in the transponder direction,i.e. the immobiliser hasn't been by-passed.

there are 2 differant situations

Car cranks, runs for a min or less - recheck bypass module, it could be wired up wrong

Car cranks, does NOT run - the ignition wire isnt hooked up properly, or you might have a 2nd ignition wire.

*NOTE*      Usually 2 loops around key cylinder is sufficiant, more is fine but 2 is more than enough
