OK well i got my new two way alarm system in yesterday and i took it to get installed and everwhere I took is talking 2-300 bucks to install it. So being the persistant person I am I took it upon myself to install it. well I have everything hooked up except the door locks everything is working like it should but the main reason I bought it is because my drivers side door lock is broken. There was already an aftermarket alarm in my car so I just basically followed the wires to that. My question is if there was an aftermarket alarm do I still need to hook up an 1k ohm meter or should one already be there.....

Follow the wires BACK to the brain from the connection @ the car.... it wil be obvious, if there is one installed.

It's not part of the car. If you were going to pay for the install.... you should have purchased the unit installed.

You might not have bee able to get "the one you WANT" but it would have included labor.
