Hello Everyone,

Having a little problem with an install on a RS-1000 OLED in a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 w/diesel.  I cannot get the truck to remote start.  The lights, door locks and everything else is working okay.  I have  a 180 ohm resistor running through a relay.  Here is the way I have it hooked up:

87 - to ground with 180 ohm resistor inline

85 - to purple remote start wire of rs-1000 with diode (Purple remote start wire also hooked to dark GREEN/ YELLOW wire on truck)

30 - to truck side of cut MUX wire (PURPLE / brown)

86 - to ground output while running on rs-1000 (BROWN / black)

this is also running in conjunction with the required accessory relay and 610 ohm resistor.  The accessories will come on when trying to remote start but the engine will not crank.  Also the check engine light will flash after a few seconds and the security light will blink also.  If I insert a factory key into the ignition the check engine light will flash after a few seconds but the security light doesn't flash anymore.  I have a PATS CHRYSler 4+ and a CAN-SL2 module.  I did the programming for the PATS module and I got comformation that it was programmed.  Now, here is where is gets even more strange.  I have the relays grounded to the metal steering column cover but have the rs-1000 ground to the body of the truck.  The accessories turn on only when the steering column cover is not installed.  When I mount the cover back on the truck the accessories no longer work when trying to remote start.  Here is the connections on the accessory relay:

87 - to ground with 610 ohm resistor inline

85 - to ground out whill running on the rs-1000 (BROWN / black)

30 - to truck side of cut MUX wire (PURPLE / brown)

87a - to key side of cut MUX wire (PURPLE / brown)

86 - to brown accessory wire of rs-1000

I don't have access to directed tech notes but I here a lot about direct fax document 1084 and 1081 (for the wait to start).  If someone could fax me these for reference I would greatly appreicate it, 573-636-5030

Thanks for any help

John

With pats-chrysler 04+ , you don't need any of the relays at all, just follow the wiring / connection guide come with the module.

so that module sends the 180ohm and 610ohm signal through?

Yeah, it will do key sense, disarm, transponder bypass & 2nd starter / 2nd acc, all those nice stuff, no more resistors & relays are required.

I just gave that a try and still wont start, the accessories seem like they kick on for a second then shut off.  Then the remote pops up a message that says "turn off remote start".  Does the MUX wire need to be cut in half or do you just wire the purple wire from the PATS module inline.

Forgot to mention, what do I do with the accessory wire (brown wire) from the rs-1000?  I assume I don't hook it to anything since the PATS module does it?

Don't need it, just cut it off & taped it.  all you need at the ignition switch is ignition, mux output from pats chrysler 04+ , if your truck has a starter wire at the ignition then you need to tie it with the starter output from your rs & the pats module.

Yep, that's the way it is hooked up now.  I still can't get it to crank or to turn on the accessories.   Below is the wires that I am using.

Starter               dk. GREEN/ YELLOW       +       ign harn or starter       button (SRT-10)

Second Starter        PURPLE / brown       -       ignition harness
Notes: The second starter wire is negative trigger thru an 180 ohm resistor. MUST use a relay. Refer to DirectFax document 1084 for wiring information.
Ignition      pink/white              +       ignition harness

Accessory      same as second starter wire       -       ignition harness
Notes: The accessory wire is negative trigger thru a 610 ohm resistor. MUST use a relay. Refer to DirectFax document 1084 for wiring information.

I have triple checked everything.  Whenever I trigger the remote start the accessories kick on for a split second then shut off and the truck never starts to crank.  The remote control pops up a message that says "turn off remote start".   Any ideas?

I have also tried an XK532 module and same thing, I can get the accessories to turn on but it will not crank.  I can hear the relays clicking and it sounds like somthing outside the truck clicks on as well.
