i have a 93 civic and my moonroof relays work intermitently...i was wondering how those relays actually work....i can open and close all the time...its just it doesnt stop feeding power when its either closed all the way or opened all the way...sometimes it would stop feeding power and sometimes it wont....is there a way to fix this?

Moonroof? I only ever heard of sunroof! LOL, Anyways, bypass the unit, find the motor wires, interrupt them,  and use two relays and wire it for reverse polarity and you're set!

You might look at the switch. There's no magic here, the switch simply grounds the relays to open or close from either tilt or slide if it's factory.
Darren, think 530t.
If it's aftermarket, I would expect it to try and carry on till you release the bloody switch!   If it still tries to carry on, change the switch.

yea...my "sunroof" operates, but it doesn't stop when it reaches its stoping point (fully opened or closed)... how do  rewire something for reverse polarity...and what does it do?  do sunroof relays work with a circuit breaker to stop the motor from operating when it reaches max open or close?

First please answer our comments, we are here to help:-
1) Is it factory?
2) Does it try to carry on even when you release the switch?
If the answer to 1) is yes and the answer to 2) is no, what's the problem? Or are you leading up to closing from an alarm etc.?
In which case just ask.

It doesn't carry on if you release the switch! Well then replace the switch!

what?!?.....everything works normal, i just want it to stop when it reaches full close or open position.....yes "it doesn't carry on" when i release the switch...the motor stops when i release the switch...but what im trying to get at is....having it stop feeding power so it doesnt burn the motor out....i dont want to guess when the roof is open or closed all the way...

What? You're now getting clearer on what you want to do! We were assuming you had  "auto close"! I can't help you however, one of the more clever minds will be sure to chime in!

The relays either work or don't so change the switch or install a 529t and take the motor wires from the relays, yes that does have limiters, or change the bloody switch!
