i need help figuring out a relay device for my electric shifter on my drag bike. can anyone help?

need to create a ground for approx. half a second then release. my system now creates a negative pulse from rpm switch. my shifter relay requires negative signal to engage. the pulse is to fast and won't make a full pull to complete a shift.

i am an idiot

What kind of current is the RPM controller capable of? This can be achieved by simply paralleling a large capacitor across the coil of the relay. It will take some substantial current in order to charge the capacitor.

thanks for replying. the rpm switch is cpable of 1.5 amp max. the problem is when the shift solenoid starts to pull, a micro switch kills the ignition for approx. 80 miiliseconds. when this happens the rpm switch sees no rpm and shuts off. the bike does not make a shift and then the ignition kicks back in showing high rpm, starting the cycle all over again. i did order and install a time delay relay that is working. however if i have a failure at the track i would prefer to repair it instead of relying on mail order parts. i did install a line-lock for my clutch and used a design from this site. the latching relay with negative trigger. it release by opening the ground by micro switch when the throttle hits wide open. seems to function properly in the shop. i will be testing it at the track this weekend. could this relay system work for my shifter without adding a microswitch? i would rather have it time out by means of a capacitor if possible. thanks again.
