Hey, I'm looking for the stereo wiring color diagram for the 92 525i. I actually have the Touring model, but I'm pretty sure the standard 525i is the same as the 525iT.
I have been trying to install a stereo into my car, and everything has been working except for the speakers. I have been trying to use an adapter (seen Here ) but I'm not sure if that's wired properly. I think maybe it might be the problem. thoughts?

There's awhite power antenna lead on the loom, make sure it's wired up, if there's a factory amp, it will also power that. Primary colours are yellow and mid-blue all in twisted pairs.

I also read that the speakers don't use the negative cables? Is that true? I will wire in the antenna cable, I just didn't use it because my car doesn't have a visible antenna. I don't even use the radio really. But I will plug it in.

Ok so I hooked up the power antenna cable, and that didn't work. So next I cut the negative leads on the speakers, and that didn't work. So now really all I can do is wire them straight into the wiring harness. Also, that previous mentioned coloring didn't really help honestly.

It sounds like the amp is not getting any power or turning on. I have a diagram that shows a 10A fuse in the amp unit. The amp is located in the trunk on the left hand side.

You mean my cd changer? I have a 6 disc in the trunk on the left hand side. So, if that's not getting power... than I'm basically screwed? What should I do?

What do mean by "so if that's not getting power" ??? TEST   N.B. If it has an amp, and UK versions didn't until the next model in 98, then it will be adjacent to your CD changer between the rear wheel arch and the light fitting.

Uhhh, yeah, that's my 6 disc changer. And it is getting power, when I turn on the car I can hear it cycling the discs. I'll check again, but last time I looked back there, there was only the changer.

Behind the trim panel on the left side is a "black box"
It deeper into the trunk than the cd changer
You will not see it until you move the trim

Alright, I'll check that out. Also, just to reiterate, this is the stationwagon model, not the standard 525i. Incase, that's different. somehow. Anyway. I'll check that out in a few and get back to you.
