Not sure what a 791 bypass is but if it cuts the Passlock wires, I would suggest picking up a GMBP. The bypasses that cut the wires work fine, but can be a pain to troubleshoot, especially if you are not familiar with the Passlock type systems. If you pick up a data based bypass it's one connection to the OBDII connector and you are done.
Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.

I finally was able to get through to tech support at alert. There 791  by pass module for the pass lock 2 system instructs you to connect the yellow wire to (+) positive voltage. what they didnt say was that both wires have voltage.  one has high voltage the other is low voltage and the low was the wire I need .when i moved this wire the the system worked ! hope this helps anyone else that may run into this problem .

also if you do use the 791 pass lock bypass module and it has a red LED.When the module has learned the key resistance the red LED should go out . If it stays on it did not read the resistance . Hope this will help someone else.
