If you cut the starter wire for the starter kill feature, the key side goes to the input, the starter side goes to the output. If you are not cutting the starter wire, just connect the output.

It's up to you. If you want you can just connect the starter output to the side of the button that goes to the starter.

Remote Start, 10-pin heavy gauge connector

1 NC No Connection
2 RED / BLACK (+) FUSED 12V ACC/STARTER IN          lt. GREEN/ purple (50A) +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin B4
3 PINK/BLACK (+) FLEX RELAY INPUT 87A       not used
4 PINK/WHITE (+) IGNITION 2 / FLEX RELAY    RED / black (smaller of 2)  +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin A3 *
5 RED (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 1 INPUT          lt. GREEN/ purple (50A) +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin B4
6 GREEN (+) STARTER INPUT (KEY SIDE)        RED / lt. blue  +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin STA
7 VIOLET (+) STARTER OUTPUT (CAR SIDE)   RED / lt. blue  +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin STA
8 ORANGE (+) ACCESSORY OUTPUT gray / YELLOW  +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin A4
9 RED / WHITE (+) FUSED 12V IGNITION 2         lt. GREEN/ purple (50A) +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin B4
10 PINK (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT RED / black (larger of 2)  +  ignition switch, black 15 pin plug, pin I1

* Program the Viper for Flex Relay = ACC2.  Menu 3, Item 8, Option 2.

Also note that there are several Yellow wires that are +12V constant that can be used, so split the Vipers +12V wires

between them to prevent over loading any one wire.

Not sure what the "Security Button" you mention is.  If you don't want the Starter Kill / Anti-Grind features that the Viper can

provide, do not cut the trucks Starter wire, just connect the Vipers Violet Starter wire directly to the trucks RED / Light Blue
Starter wire.   Here is a photo of the trucks ignition switch connector with the wires marked :

Hello Kreg357, I did everything like you said. but when i press to remote start i get "Remote Start Error" on my 2-way remote.
The security button that I was talking about is that RED / Light Blue cable is cut, there is a button in between cables. I connected the green and the violet cable to the starter side of that cable not the ignition side. correct me if im wrong - the button has two pins, when i try to crank the engine with the key I put the 12v tester on one side of the pin and the light on the 12v turns on, but on the other pin there is no voltage until i press the button. while trying to crank the engine i press the button and the engine cranks. that means i need to connect my green and violet to the side where there was not light right?

With that ":Security" button, it would handle the anti-grind portion of the Vipers' Starter Circuit.  The Starter Kill would be better than the Security switch.  Making the RED / Light Blue starter wire cut for the Vipers' Violet and Green wires on the vehicle side of the Security switch is correct.

The "remote start error" notice might be from a few things.  Did you program the Viper for Auto Trans ( assuming the truck has it )?  Can you run Shutdown Diagnostics to get the actual error?

I removed the Security button for less confusion, now its normal. RED / Light Blue cable is cut, green cables is closer to the ignition side and the violet cable is the starter side.
and yes I did program it to Auto (it is Automatic) ill run the shutdown diagnostics tomorrow after work.
btw can the problem be because the alarm thinks one of the doors is open. when i shut all 4 doors and press the lock its telling me that one of the doors is open but armed. not sure if that would cause a problem.
