96 Altima amp wiring

My friend has a 96 Altima, and the only place I can find to run the power for his amp is on passenger side of the firewall, behind the intake manifold. It's a real pain to get to, I burnt myself twice and I couldn't even get the wire through. Is there any better places to go through the firewall? If so, can you explain where? Thanks in advance Matt

in almost every car, there is a spot to the left of the brake booster reserved for a clutch linkage. That is usually a perfect place to drill a hole and pass wire through. My 97 camry has a spot that I used, even a plate spot welded over the hole that would be used for the clutch. I've never once seen a manual transmission in a camry, but the spot is still there. It's there on the Altima too.Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

Thanks guys, I actually ended up just pushing the rubber grommet out from inside the car. Only problem now is that the amp won't turn on. I'm 100% sure it's wired properly, and it is getting power. I'm gonna try the amp in my car and I might end up returning it.
