Good day, Is there a difference between "tach & speed sense"? I'm doing a R/S for a co-worker soon and I'm gathering all the info for the install.  I've also wondering about the child safety feature. Is it necessary? I own two Camry Le's, 92 & 94. Haven't had a problem with the locks. Happy Holidays!!!!!!!!

Yes there is a difference. The tach signal provides a reference to the engine's speed (measured in revolutions per minute or RPM). The vehicle speed signal (VSS) provides a reference to the vehicle's velocity or speed (measured in pulses per mile or PPM).

If you intend to add keyless entry to the vehicle, you'll need to connect to the child safety wire to unlock the doors. https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page4.asp#tc I'll add "updating the current child safety color wires" to my "to do" list.

Here's the information I have for both of your vehicles: 1992-93 Toyota Camry Alarm Information, 1992-93 Toyota Camry Cruise Information, 1994 Toyota Camry Alarm Information, 1994 Toyota Camry Cruise Information

You're welcome, glad I could help. Yes, the 2002 is different. You can find the info for it here.
