Guys I hope you can help my troubled mind, I bought my AVIC-X1 (similar to AVIC-N1 in the US) in July this year. Working perfectly fine unitl  I was surprised to smell something burning in my car. I was driving and the music suddenly stopped, can't get the power to work.  Had the unit taken out and surely, it was my navi...something went wrong. Wondered what caused it.... am trying to get hold of the relevant people to fix it, just thought you would be able to give me an idea why it happened. Thanks, at least one of you would say this problem can be fixed as the unit did cost me very dearly. Thanks!

Sounds like a c#%$&*t c#^y job,i find it difficult to find that smoke sometimes, after all thats what the inside of that case is made of, Smoke!Sorry for the jokes,i feel for you..All i can suggest is finding a competent installer..But i think you need a competent repair person now..i new there was a reason i charge 400 bucks + parts to put those things in!!
