ok long story short, i jsut sold my car with a avh-p7500dvd installed. I want to find out if pioneer is selling a future upgrad to that like a 7600 line.

When i call crutchfield/cartoys they say the unit is discontinued and they dont carry it any longer

when i call pioneer they say its the 2005 product catalog and there is no future product for it

anyone know is there going to be a avh-p7600dvd and will it be released this year?

Well New models from pioneers are coming in may at, least for the avic-n1 but the bad news is that now you wont be able to watch tv or dvd while the car is running, I know that in the old models you have to connect the green wire to the brake and there was a way to bypass which is most places cant be done because of the law. well whatever from what i hear now even bypassing the wire you wont be able to watch, Well I think its sucks,

Sebastian I'm not saying your wrong but I think even Pioneer would realize that to be a bad business move. People will avoid the product because of that. Legally their bases are covered with the old setup. I see no reason for them to change it. But they might have just to be d*cks. Would navigation still work while driving???

The AVH-P7600DVD is already out.  Very similar to the 7500dvd but without the included TV tuner.  Also, a few cosmetic changes on the fron of the unit.  As far as video while driving,  the new units are more similar to Alpine as far as wiring the bypass.  The AVIC-N2 might be more of a challenge as I've heard rumours the gyro is involved in the elimination of front seat video.  However, it does have a rear camera "always live" avh-p7500dvd future unit? -- posted image.input so you might want to add a PS2 or XBOX (or any dvdplayer) to take care of video.  If you are using a rear camera, a simple rca switcher would take care of that problem.

The 7600DVD is not out. It is not being released until May. The AVIC-N2 is out and shipping right now. You are correct about the no TV tuner though.

Pioneer does realize this, but does not feel it will impact sales. As a matter of fact, there were more N2's sold at CES than the N1's last year. I really don't see it hurting the sales. They are also coming out with a double din version called the D1 in May. Pioneer is more worried about safety than sales by the way.

I suspect that most of the products being released by Pioneer will have the same video lockout features as the N2.  Seems like they are taking a standard approach (with the release of the N2 and the software upgrade in the N1).  My guess is that a 7600 will have the same thing...  other thoughts?

You can still view Navi, but you can't update destinations on the go.

It might be a Canadian release only. Pioneer USA might be waiting for AVHP7500DVD to sell out first.   Pioneer has them in Canada right now (where I'm from).  12V_rep, which company do you rep for?
