OK, the type R's are the old school type. duel 4 ohm 300 RMS. should i wire them at a 4 ohm or 1 ohm final load to the bxi? I'm thinking 4 ohm to be safe. whats the real world power of the bxi2610? the site tells you 850@4, 1700@2, and 2600@1. i don't think thats quit right. oh, what deferents might i see in swapping the hifonics bxi2600 to the audioque aq2200?? I'm thinking the bxi was putting out around 2000 RMS at 14.4 volts. that sound about right? does the aq2200 have a bass boost on it? i read some where that it doesn't. no big deal if it don't, that just helps to keep dummies like me from clipping all crazy like! lol

Bass Boost is a marketing tool and for noobs IMO. It does nothing but drive the amp into clipping faster and add distortion.
As for power output. They should be very similar, but the AQ uses better internal components and is overall a higher quality build with non inflated specs.

i was on another forum and read that some people were running their aq2200 @ .5 ohm. and it was no dig deal for that amp to run at that? what do you think? bad idea?? what kind of power would it put out if it could run like that?  hifonics amps vs planet audio? - Page 3 - Last Post -- posted image.

If you notice they rate there 4ohm load at 12V not 14.4v. This for competitors that do sanctions like Usaci they go from manufacturer rating at 4ohm for power classes. It is made for competitors. Sure you can run it at .5 with a strongly backed electrical system, but i would not do it for a daily beater.
