Hey Howie, OK so I picked up the bits today from Hayes and managed to program the RPM manually :) Well I guess I did, because the remote start does actually work, although the engine dies after 5 ish seconds, and does that 3 times.
Any idea what that's all about?

It would run 15 seconds if tach wasn't recognised, have you got all the ignition loom wired up?
Set up as a diesel with glow-plug delay?

Ah OK. Well now it seems a bit hit and miss. Most of the time it starts fine. But then other times, it will start up twice, but then cut out after 4-5 seconds. Then on the third try, it starts up and stays on.
I've check the ignition, starter and accessory wires and the all seem OK.
I have noticed that it doesn't wait for the glow plug to go out, even though I have it wired up? I'm pretty sure I read to leave the fuel type as 'gas' and wire up either a glow plug (+) or glow plug (-) and it will wait to stop seeing that before cranking. Have I got that right?
Thanks :)

No, leave it as diesel, use the whiz to set up the wait to start, say 4 seconds then after using whiz reprogram tach.
