sometimes when I remote start the security light goes on but it starts fine.......could this be related to my alarm? If so, what could it be? My Air Commander Air compressor for my AirBags  might be throwin' oil on the wire goin' to my computer for my Remote Start Im confused..lately sometimes my truck when I turn the key or doin a remote start it will start/run for about 2 seconds then shut off...wont hold idle..it acts like its not getting any gas. Could this be related to the alarm wire goin to the computer and gettin a small amount of oil on it? Sometimes I have a burning smell...........thanx guys!

Yes, if you mean your factory alarm. More specifically, it might be the PASSLOCK MODULE. Try replacing the Passlock module and see if that will remedy the problem.
"Sometimes I have a burning smell"
This can be anything and not related to the remote start.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.01' Silverado, Clifford RS 3.5 -- posted image.

Improper installation of bypass module. Or bad module. I am betting on the first one.

Well then it could be a bad ground(most likely), corroded connections(least likely unless you used t-taps), or the module could have gone bad(second most likely).

Use the search feature or use the  diagrams link. It will save time for you next time.
