there probably are two pink wires in your ignition harness. take your pick, they are the same wire. Make sure you test them first to make sure, but a lot of GM cars do this. also the "Darker" pink wire is actually your red wire which is 12v+.

There is a Red, Yellow, Brown, Dark Pink, and Light Pink...so the red would be the 12V +  The 2 Pink wires are the same AWG, but just one is darker than the other. What should I test to know the difference?

Jacqueslacombe, so you think the Darker pink is the battery, so go with the lighter pink?

Mobile1, if there was 2 wires, why would none of the wiring diagrams show it, as far the ones on here, the one I have, and the one on BulldogSecurity.com only show one pink wire...

Ahhh... a DMM will very quickly sort out what is what as far as light pink, dark pink, pink pink, wouldn't it?
I mean, what would this same guy do on a F-150 that may have the GREEN/ violet 12V one year, and have an identical looking GREEN/ violet as an ignition in a different model year. You'd have to test it. Period.

You need to learn how to use a volt meter.  If you have one splice into the wire you suspect of being the constant 12v.  Turn the volt meter to dc volts, and put the red side to the wire, and black to a ground.  It should read 12v when the car is off.  I didnt learn to use a volt meter till recently, and its such a valuable thing to know how to use.   Makes life so much easier

Yeah you'll need a DMM to test with.  Your true ignition wire will show no voltage when the key is off (or in the accessory position), 12 volts when the key is in run, and 10-12 volts when cranking.

Hey guys,

Both PINK (Dark and Light) go to the sam PIN on the IGN Switch....Tested it, showed like ,75, the red did show 13V+ so that's the constant....So would you guess either pink wire woudl be fine, or to take one of the PINK from the Satellite to each of them? Also, if that's the case which should go to which, (PINK, and PINK/WHITE) to Light Pink, and Dark Pink....

Next up the 451M Door Lock interface. If one of you guys could IM me on AOL, or AIM @ MxRacer476 I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Also the Brown wire in that switch was never addressed, as far as that being the ACCY wire, or to look for one of the 50 orange wires, along the dirvers kick panel....

If memory serves the 451M should be wired like so:

WHITE/ Black -- switch side of cut lock wire

GREEN/ Black -- motor side of cut lock wire

PURPLE / Black -- +12V constant

BROWN / Black -- switch side of cut unlock wire

Blue/Black -- motor side of cut unlock wire

Purple -- +12V constant

Lock is RED / black and unlock is ORANGE / black both at the keyless entry module behind the passenger kick.  Then just plug the ribbon cable into the RS.
