I started to install a remote starter on my 2008 Avenger.  Has anyone on here done on of these models?   Having a few questions.  A few of the wires: starter, accessory, connect to the same wire.  On the intallation sheet it says a resistor is needed for each and tells the resistor it needs.  My question is do you just put the resistor in line with the wire?

My suggestion is to use a bypass module that has the MUX starter bypass built in to the module. YOu need a module anyways so why not use one that bypasses the MUX starter for you ? I suggest using the iDatalink ADS-TBSL-C2 or the Fortin PATS-CHRYSLER-04+ Both are good, but if your remote starter has RS232 on it, use the iDatalink and set it to RS232 wiring.

yOU MIGHT WANT to use a module to take care of what you are attempting to do now. bypasskit makes a part#  PKU-CH2X

Look into this. There are others as well!   Take the headache away from the install!

I have a bypass module.  Still have to hook both of the wires to the same wire.  I think?

With the bypass module it still says (resistance) in the column for the start wire.  And with the bypass modules you still need to connect the wires to the vehicle right?  Or does it use radio frequency to control the stuff?

If you could specify which bypass module you're using that would be helpful...most ones that require a key in the box do not have an output for the resistor wire. Here's a link to the PKU-CH2X which was mentioned above...that will indeed make things easier. You still have to hook up to the MUX wire but it has the resistors built into the bypass; also you don't have to lose a key.

Proceed to ignore what you're reading on your wiring sheet about resistors. That XK532 bypass already has the resistance values taken care of; you just need to hook the violet/white from the XK532 to the violet/brown on the car and you'll be set in that regard.
Apologies in advance if I insult your intelligence, but you also need to hook up all the other wires to the XK532 as per what its instructions say. The only thing that's overriden by RF is the transponder key system.
If you're still confused, feel free to PM me, and know that it's normal b/c GM and Chrysler in this decade have decided to make their ignition switches ridiculously complicated.

I got the car all wired and ready to start.  Tried it and it started fine and then I shut it down.  Tried to start the car with remote for a second time and it wont start.  When I unplug the bypass and plug it back in it starts once but not the second time.  I did it several times.  What would cause this problem?
