The type of amp you use does not determine whether you need to upgrade your charging system- the amount of current it pulls does.  With that kind of power, I'd get the highest output alternator I could afford, and do the big 3 upgrade (use the search function at the top right corner).

If the amp truly is 2000 watts RMS, I'd go with at least 2 gauge.  To the left of the screen, you can click Power and Ground, which will bring up this: https://www.the12volt.com/info/recwirsz.asp.

yeah i realize that but a guy down here at an audiodesigns told me that a digital amp would make it so i wouldnt have to upgrade.

he said this one was sposed to be digital, ive been told its really only about 1700 rms
