you can wire up the additional relay by two methods.

IF YOUR UNIT HAS A NEG (-)  250mA OPTIONAL OUPUT FOR ACC, START, IGN

85 - constant 12v

86 - 250mA (-) output from unit
87 - high current 12v
30 - to second starter wire on car

OTHER METHOD

85 - ground out when running from unit

86 - start wire from car - just splice into the starter wire
87 - high current 12v
30 - to second starter wire on car

i suggest you use the first method, its always easier and more reliable IMO.

now, your (-) shutdown diagnostics, open up your hood, and look to see if your hood pin is touching ground. if it is make sure it has clearance and it should start. Another possibility is the E-brake wire.tkea the E-brake wire and wire it straight to ground. this is the only reasons i could come up with if your unit gaves a negative shutdown diagnostics.
