The 16 gauge speaker wire is getting black burn marks inside it, about an inch away from the amp hookup. It's not melting threw, but it might. The amp is a kicker 120W RMS X 4ch. amp. Speakers are all kicker 6x8s.

Then either your hookup is very wrong, or your amplifier and/or speakers are defective, and/or your wire is extremely cheap/not really 16 AWG/defective.  There is no way 120 watts will damage 16 gauge wire.  I highly recommend getting rid of that wire and getting your system checked out by someone who can test amps and speakers.  You have a problem that must be corrected.

Actually I'm an installer. I guess I just need to replace all the speaker wire. I got that wire at walmart. Guess lesson learned don't buy cheap walmart wire.
