Looking at getting some help on the above vehicle. Here's the problems and hope to hear some solutions if you have successfully installed one before:
Kit: 9007 Bixenon
1. Low voltage trigger from the OEM harness is not enough and causing the HID's to flash once per second.
2. High beams work fine with IGN OFF, but once the ignition is turned over, they start going in and out between HIGH and LOW
3. The lights flicker for 1/2 second when door is opened. This only happens after vehicle has sat for more than a minute.
What I have done and tried:
Installed a relay to be triggered from the OEM low beam harness. Power straight from battery, ground straight to OEM ground off fender, cut low beam wire and wired one side to 85 and the other to 30.
Cut OEM harness ground and wired directly to battery ground..... same problems.
Ran switched IGN power to trigger low beams, works fine but high beam still a problem. ( Would rather have the system work off OEM switch though.)

Since it was effecting both the high and low, I would think the problem has something to do with the ground. The stock headlights should have 4-6amps draw each, that should have been enough to turn the HID ballast on and then they should draw power from the battery. It shouldn't take much power to activate the ballast.
You may want to try seeing how much current the ballast draws.

Just like A post i answered earlier.  Use relays with resistors and the problem will go away.  With resistors the factory system will sense the proper resistance on the wire and keep it on.  We have done so many Dodge, Chryslers and have not had any problems when wired with the resistors.  We have relays with resistors prewired on them and plug them in directly to the factory harness.

Went a got some LCM's from a supplier and it worked like a charm except the fact that the DRL only give the HID's partial voltage and bobbles the lights.

Be carefull.  DRL may damage a ballast.  If you can you should disable it.  Your customer will return with a problem.  As you may know, DRL work on low voltage and will not give full power to your HID.   But i noticed that in Canada cars have to have it .  Basically your customer is using the HID full power all the time and will reduce the life of the unit.

I know.... that's the trade off on the Dodge RAM's in Canada. Unfortunately, no way around the DRL problem other than full power.

In Canada, are you able to disable the DRL if desired??? Or is it the law?

VM/Enice

Do either of you guys make harnesses?  I have an 04 ram that i am putting acura tl projectors into and need a harness that will operator the high beam shutters while keeping the ballast running on lows.

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram, I installed 9007 bulbs (hid system). I am getting the flickering at the bulbs, even with the wiring harness and relay, installed capacitors and nothing seems to work. I understand a resistor will work also to prevent the flickering problem (which one can I use and where should I install it).

Ii anyone have any suggestions, please let me know,

Thanks,

Juan

Go over to DodgeTalk.com and they always have threads on HIDs in the trucks.
