xchrisx, try to see if you can fit a box that has internal airspace of 4.5 cu ft (after taking out displacement for braces, port structure, etc.).  Put those subs in a box, both facing the same way.  Also on that same front baffle, cut a slot port 12" X 3".  Keep both the subs in the same airspace (chamber) within the box, but build in some wall-to-wall braces for support.  Make the slot port length about 8.5" long (the thickness of the box's face baffle counts toward the port length).

Face the subs toward the rear end of the car.  You can invert both subs so that the backs show if you want to.  After it's built and installed, experiment with the wiring polarity at the amplifier, and choose the way that is the loudest.  Have fun with the build.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
