Underpowering a sub by giving it less RMS than its max is in no way shape or form going to hurt your sub. This has been gone over and over again. As for sound the subs sounds great if the enclosure is built correct and with good placement. THe BTL not only will handle the power with out having to do it fully loaded but is built better and stronger.  BTW what is the difference between under powering a BL and a BTL? I will answer for you. NOTHING. As for the under power myth here is a nice link to a discusion on it. https://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~74226~PN~1

ok so what im trying to say is i want a 15" fi bl ok its just as strong fully loaded as the btl and is 100$ cheaper and i wont be underpowering the bl but i will be underpowering the btl by a few hunderd watts but the bl i wont be underpowering it at all. so tel me please do you know what the diffrence is with the 15" bl fully loaded is than the 12" btl regular? like they have almost the same quality and exact spl sensitivity so wouoldnt they sound about the same?

you get what you pay for and the spl of any given sub is NOT determined by how much power it will handle. how you sub sounds is mostly the job of the box it is in. in your case, your 1600W is fine for either of those subs just put whatever sub you get in a well designed box.

A fully loaded BL is still not even in the same league as the build quality of the BTL.

BL  Extra heavy lead wire

FEA optimized motor
3” diameter 4 layer coil (Flatwind option), <---on fully loaded.
Double stack magnets
Triple progressive spiders

BTL  Extreme lead wire

FEA optimized motor
3” diameter 8 layer coil and flat wind (High Xmax coil option )
Single high flux magnet
Five progressive spiders

2 totaly different beasts. you get what you pay for in the BTL

it sould be plenty loud if done right. In that little car it should rattle it to peices. check out some vids of them to get a better idea. Youtube  and realm have plenty of Fi BTL vids for you.
