I need to know what color and where I can find the wire that will unlock only the driver's door on a 97 Ford Mustang.

NOT A CHANCE,IN ORDER TO DO DRIVER'S ONLY YOU  NEED TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR AND DO A REVERSE POLARITY AT THE DOOR LOCK MOTOR WIRES,REASON WAY IS BECAUSE DRIVER'S DOOR MOTOR COMES FROM THE SWCH ON SIDE THE DOOR AND IT WONT GO IN THE CAR I WILL SAY IS PINK/BLACK.

NOW IF THE CAR GOT A KEYLSS ENTRY GO YO THE MODULE IN THE TRUNK AT THE DRIVER SIDE AN IS THE SAME COLOR WIRE ,BUT IF THAT IS THE ISSUE YOU CAN ALWAYS UPGRADE THE SYSTEM AND IS NO NEED FOR DRIVER'S PRIORITY.Driver's Door Unlock Wire for 97 Mustang -- posted image.

thank you, I thought it was hopeless for a minute.  The car does have factory keyless, so can I run the 3rd channel output right to the pink and black wire in the trunk.

You can run a new  wire to a add on door lock actuator that will only lock/unlock the driver door. This is alot more work but it will work.

wellcheck this out , see this with keyless ,the factory remote does the trick for first door priority if you if you do and upgrade alarm ,,,,,now if you are going to do an alarm with remotes than easy :in the driver kik panel is a plug acctually there are two but in one of them is the pink/black but still you need to do a reverse polarity relay to do that,ok now depend on the brand of alarm you are using the alarm may be have a program for doble pulse unlock if not you can use 2nd 3rd 4rd chanel

i forgot the plugs are really up high in there so whit a panel pup tool pull them down to be reachable dont have to go to trunk.

i will sugest that you use first unlook pulse for drivers and then any other chanel for the other door, may be use trunk pup whit 3rd chanel, wire is PURPLE / yelloy in drivers kik panel,,,,,sorry if i say too much
