i grounded the headunits wire harness to the chassis (on the headunit's manual, it says to ground it to the car's chassis). and right now the "car's" wire harness has nothing connected to it; i put black tape on it. you get me?

so do it like this:
power wire- i can connect it to yellow wire even though my headunit is connected to it also? i can just use black tape right. same goes with the remote?
ground wire- i grounded my headunit to the chassis. so i can just connect it to the black wire of my car's wire harness right?

The power wire of the EQ should connect to the same point that the yellow wire of your radio is  connected.  The ground should connect to the ground connection of your radio.  The remote wire of hte EQ connects to the Blue/White wire of the radio.

Is the ground wire of the harness the same place you grounded your radio?

Is your radio grounded to the black wire of the radio harness?  If not, where is your radio grounded.  So where did I suggest you ground your EQ?

my radio has a wire harness (ida-x200). it has a black wire (ground), i ground that black wire to the chassis of the car. i did not connect it to the black wire of my "car's" wire harness; meaning that black wire is not connected to anything, it just has electric tape on it. copy that?
