Sounds like it is not set-up properly(programming)...Meaning set to tach or tachless...If set to tach...Make sure the tach learn sequence has been learned...Next check your brake connection(correct wire)...Check the hood pin connection and make sure it is only seeing ground when hood is up......And quite a few units have a wire , sometimes black-white , that needs to see ground in order for the remote start to activate...All these things will have you experience a no response from the remote start...Most commonly its the programming or the wire that needs ground...The wire that needs ground is commonly used in conjunction with a toggle switch...

Good point with the BLACK/ white wire because I do have it on my remote module and it is designated for Neutral safety swith. Good point with the tach learning thing as well because my module has that to.  Can the BLACK/ white wire go right to ground or does it have to go to the neutral safety switch?
Thanks, Joe

my vehicle has a NOT GROUNDING TYPE neutral safety switch. Does that mean I cannot connect the BLACK/ white wire to the neutral safety switch?

Thanks, Joe

does it have cold start wire?
try this, warm up your car with the key to normal operation temperature
then kill it, and try to start it with the remote starter without the key in the ignition. if it does start then it's your cold start wire not connect. it should be in the ignition wire harness with starter, ignition and acc wires.

basically it's
starter 2 wire,
I had similar issue installing viper 5901 on 2000 nissan altima, this was the issue:
the starter would turn over, but the car wont start.
tried it when the car warmed up to normal operational temperature , the remote start worked.
here the solution(thanks to chriswallace187):
"You'll need a standard automotive SPDT relay for the 2nd starter wire. Wire as follows:
(-) 2nd start output from Avital.
86, 87: constant fused 12V(you can connect this to the 12V inputs to the brain between the brain and the fuseholder.
30: 2nd start wire on truck. "
