single wire doorlock solution?

hello all

i want to install a car alarm and became a little box with it called single wire doorlock solution, and i'm unsure for what it is. i have a mazda 6 2004 and figured out, that it has a single wire doorlock and a remote powerlock, but now i don't know for what this solution is for. is it ment for remote powerlock?

Do you have the alarm already? Your vehicle has a one wire system for lock and unlock!

Lock is negative trigger thru a 1000 ohm resistor. Unlock is a straight negative trigger. MUST use relays. The BCM (Body Control Module) is in the driver kick panel.

its called a multiplex system where resistance determines what it will do. so a 1000ohm resistor will lock. straigh ground will unlock, and as you know this is done through one wire.

i guess i was drunk   i was confused, because i told the dealer, that i already have remote powerlock, but probably he missunderestood and sent me the box with the car alarm just to be sure (i'm from switzerland, so i didn't quite understand the singel door stuff in the beginning). but when i read the diagramm it says output: door lock/unlock output        input: lock, unlock, +12V and ground

it also has a led and a little button, probably for programming the keys

never seen an "adjustable" resistor door lock module

can you tell what the name, or model number is?

whatever it is, I'm sure it is more expensive than the 5 cent resistors that most of us usually use

no, it doesn't have an adjustment switch, only a button for probably programming the remote keys.
