haha shoulda seen that coming. as dumb as I feel for not doing a proper search, I gata say thanks. some good info in there.
As far as the line out converter, does one end just plug into the RCA on the back of the HU and the other goes to the RCA going to the amp?

The purpose of me posting the link to the VERY COMMON problem with the Pioneer decks was to keep you from spending the money on the line out converters.  Beside the money issue, you are not going to get the best possible sound using a Line out converter.

I have tried the "quick fix" but am still getting noise though. Its less noise, but just as annoying. think its time to quit being cheap and get it taken care of?

Did you connect the wires at the rear of the deck, or did you do it at the input of the amp?  You must do it behind the radio.  If you did it at the amp, you created a ground loop.

nope did it right off the back of the head unit.
