I got a 09 Wrangler Im trying to do a remote start on here at work . It doesnt have factory keyless and Im assuming it doesnt have any kind of chip in the key . It has a plain metal key with a gray head on it . I have a Canmax 400 bypass and a Auto Mate AM6.2 remote start for it . This is the first time Ive worked with this combo . After reviewing all the installation instructions Im a bit confused . Since this vehicle doesnt have the normal kind of ignition wires do I need to wire the main harness on the AM6.2 with the heavy gauge wires ? Im just not understanding how the vehicle will remote start using this bypass . It looks like theres a couple wires in the vehicle that it connects too and then every other connection are wires right from the remote start .

usually grey key is a chipped key on jeep, dodge, chrysler products.  After looking at the install guide for the canmax it appears the only connections to the vehicle from the remote starter you need to make is power, ground, parking lights, and that diode on the r/s igntion wire to the vehicle ignition wire.  Everything thing else is from the canmax to the vehicle.
