Hi all, I installed a 5701 Viper car alarm in my Yukon XL 1500, 2001. All is working ok and I also got the bitwriter to program the alarm. I will not use the remote start feature, just car alarm and door access. I connected the  (+) IGNITION 1 INPUT/OUTPUT to the ignition pink wire, the RED (+) FUSED (30A) IGNITION 1 INPUT to the pink going to the engine. The starter cranks but the car wont start. Please help !! like I said the remote start will not be used. Thanks.

If I understand correctly all we want is for the ignition kill to work. I am guessing +Pink Ignition wire of alarm to +Pink Ign wire of vehicle.. Yellow Starter wire of vehicle-motor side to violet wire of alarm, and Yellow key side to green wire of alarm. This is how I would try it. I think you made a wrong connection and the starter side is not getting energized. Hope this helps..let me know.

Should there be continuity between the ignition wires with the alarm power off ? thats rhe pink and red wire.

I tell ya .....I have a degree in electronicks and do electrical construction work for about 25 years ......car alarms have changed !!!! bitwriters etc got allot more complecated :)

I think you need to be using the Violet (H3/4) and the Green (H3/5) wires on your starter wire for this. Yellow may be the color, but of course test and verify.  From what I am reading you have a fused wire to your ignition that is suppose to be for 12volt(+) input to the brain.  The download section of this site has a install manual for this unit in PDF format.
When all else fails, Read the Instructions

which wire did you cut and wire in as the kill switch( viper wires green and purple?)should be yellow wire that only shows 12volts during crank, if you cut ny other wire and tied into these wires theres a mistake. also check all your fuses you may have accidently blown an ign fuse

connect the red wire on the viper to constant 12V+, i don't have a tech sheet in front of me but if i remember correclty it should be red or RED / white.  connect the pink ignition from the viper (and only that wire) to the vehicle's pink ignition wire.
