Yes but the original Euro equivalents from about 10 years ago tied into the direction indicators as well as lock sensing, both had to activate to disarm the add-on alarm. Because in Europe, operating the factory remote brought on the indicators (lights) as well.

Not necessarily, it depends on the vehicle. Some vehicles have dedicated wires from the receiver to the doorlock module/relays. I may also be possible to diode isolate the wires to prevent the switches from turning the system on or off. Omega's idea for the arm and disarm inputs are to interface with their GPS tracking units so a person can arm/lock and disarm/unlock remotely by phone or the web, but they can be adapted for other uses.This information is provided only as a reference.

It should be out now, or at least soon. This morning I met with two Audiovox sales reps and their head of tech support, and got to see the new unit in person. It comes with two single-button remotes for long-range starting. If you don't need the range, you can leave the single-button remote at home and start the engine using the factory remote (press Lock, Unlock, Lock). The factory remotes will arm and disarm the alarm system. The alarm has door trigger, shock sensor, and horn honk. A siren is not included, but I'd imagine the unit probably still has a siren output so you could add your own.
