Do you have the Install manual for the unit??  It makes understanding the Menu's and features easier.  It is download for it in the doenload section of this web site.

I went out to my car that has a 5301 in it, (2000 Taurus)  and when you get to the menu 3, option 2 for the TACH setting, you can hold the valet button down, and the remote lock/unlock will cycle through each setting and give you a 1, 2, 3, or 4 horn honks to verify which mode  you are in.

Also on mine I had to move the tach thershold jumper on the brain to pick up the tach wire signal. Page 35 of the install guide.

Hope you get it going today.

Alls well with the unit , today did notice unlock wouldnt work a couple times. But in the morning I am looking into that. So far the RS has operated fine throughout the day. I am truly grateful for the advice ive gotten and learned alot. BUT, there's always a but...

I was not thinking while testing the brown wire behind my headlight switch and shorted out all of my Headlight switch, 4X4 switch, cluster, and climate control, and stering wheel lights !AHHHHHH Im so inpatient and really think I could be introuble on this one.switches function thankfully but NO LIGHTS. So far I checked every fuse and they are all good. I do not know yet if I fried all the bulbs or what. Any input on this. If not I should probably start another thread.

2003 GMC Yukon 5.3 Gas 4wd SLT

I was Testing a brown wire behind my headlight switch and shorted it out. ALL bulbs in all switches are out, cluster backlights, climate control backlights,4wd lights at the switch ect..

The switches work, the cluster lights work except backlighting, climate control works except backlighting, steering wheel buttons all work except lights ect, ect.

I tested all my fuses, driver side panel and under the hood, Nothing blown, What did i do?
