A few months ago i replaced the factory dash speakers in a familly members '04 camry. They were blown, and intollerable at even low volumes. The speakers were factory rplacements due to the odd size of the opening, and mounting screw placement.   3 months after, the car was retuned with the same problem. She wants to eliminate the dash speakers and go with better door speakers. The deck is a factory gps unit, and i'm not sure what the output per channel is, i assume the dash and door speakers are on the same channel, so maybe some aftermarket door speakers will improve the sound, but i think maybe something else is going on to cause the speakers to blow again so soon. Any ideas would be appreciated.

The uneducated listener is "blowing" the speakers.... bass at +10, as well as the treble.... (mid's too... if it has it)

and lets not forget the LOUDNESS...... it's on of course! There is not much else in a totally factory system that will cause this type of problem...

Would normally be my 1st assumption, but seeing as shes 50, and she feels like her head is going to explode when listening to my stereo at low levels, i dismissed that as a possibility.

A factory head unit that blows factory speakers is likely defective.  Get the head unit tested.
