Hey Guys,
I'm a new member to this forum but have been reading it for a while now. I am installing a Viper 5701 remote start/alarm with a DB-ALL bypass on my 2011 Silverado 1500. all went well(doors unlock, lock) until i tried to remote start it. It didnt start, parking lights flashed 7 times. I then went in and programmed the Viper for auto tranny thinking this would fix it, i was wrong.
I double checked all my connections, checked the tranny mode again, the neutral ground and switch, and even tried remote starting with key in ignition. no improvements.
the DBALL has firmware GM6 2.01. it has a RF Loop connected. i installed according to the GM6 install manual.
Im am stumped, Ive been trying to figure it out all day but to no avail. I would really appreciate any ideas!! Thanks

How did you change it to AUTO?  and can you list your wiring from the Viper to the Silverado. And DBALL

Does it try to start? As in, does the starter turn the motor over?

nope, nothing but and error tone from the 2 way remote and then a little bit later the park lights flash 7 times. THe manual says to try and manually activate the remote start by pulse grounding H1/10. im going to try today.

I tried using the H1/10 wire to activate remote start. same thing happens, error tone and then 7 flashes. I then decided to revert all programable settings back to default, including the Tach setting. I then reprogrammed for the auto tranny since manual is default. After that i tried again to get the unit to "learn" the tach, no success. I start the engine and then hold the valet button, the light should come on after 3secs but there is nothing. I then tried to remote start to see what would happen and then its the same old story...

Do you have either H1/6 or H1/8 connected to a door trigger?  If not, you should be able to connect H1/8 (Green) to a ground.

Turn the ignition ON, then OFF.

Press and HOLD the valet button until you hear three chirps from the siren, ( 1 chirp, then 2 chirps, then 3 chirps), then release the button.

Now press it ONE TIME and Release, then press it again and HOLD the button down. You should hear ONE chirp from the siren. You are now in the transmission Mode. Press the lock button. You should hear two chirps from the siren. (automatic Mode)   Press the lock button again, you should hear one chirp from the siren. (manual Mode). Press the lock button again. Two chirps, (automatic Mode).  Release the button wait 30 seconds for the brain to get out of the menus, as noted by a short squeal from the siren. Try to remote start.

If you hear more than two chirps when pressing the lock button, you are in the wrong Menu or Item.  Wait for the brain to back out of the menus as noted by a short squeal from the siren, and try again.

I have just tested this procedure on a bench unit (Python 872, same wiring layout as 5701) and it will work.

If I had H1/8 disconnected from a ground, it would not work.
