It did not work, but I want to try it again. It was getting dark and I was rushing. Will this output be the same as a GWR? This will switch my relays before it starts. I would think it would be ok going to the fortin unit, but I also use it for an anti-grind relay. Question: Is the gwr wire a ground anytime the engine is running or just when remote started?

Thanks

Sorry but I meant to ask one more question about the autolight shutdown.Lt blue/black from fortin to driver door pin. What does this do? I noticed when I remote start and get into car and shut the door, I have to turn on a domelight so I can see the key slot. Does this fix this or is it talking about the headlights?

Thanks very much!

Its triggered only when remote started just like the GWR, It should work well. The GWR wire might come on a second before the ORANGE / white. I don't think it will matter in your specific installation though. If you are using it to trigger a relay for anti-grind you need to put 2 diodes on that ORANGE / white wire. It shows you how on the top of page 4 in the installation manual.

Hello

The ORANGE / white did work as a GWR. Works pretty well. When you said it triggered only when remote started then I knew it had to work. Now back to this Lt blue/black wire from the Fortin unit to door trigger that says autolight shutdown. What exactly does this do? I may need to hook this up. Also how would you recommend me fix my problem with the domelight and the key light going off as soon as I shut the door. The inside is pitch black. When I I enter the car normally, the domelight and key light stay on until I turn the key to ignition.  Any thoughts?

Thanks a lot

Thats because the car is running. start the car with the key, open the door and close it. The dome light will do the same thing. Thats just the way the car is.. There is nothing you would be able to do with the remote start unit you have.
As for the door pin wire off the Fortin, hook it up. If the Fortin bypass didn't need it, then they would have left it out of the install manual. Sometimes instead of getting this wire at the BCM, you can usually find it in the drivers side running board, Same color - white

Hello again

Well I hooked up the Fortin bypass autolight shutdown wire (lt. blue/black) to the door pin switch. It does not seem to do anything. I tried to find the white wire in the wires going to rear of car, but did not find it. Well I did find a white wire, but it did nothing when I pushed the door switch. It is yellow at BCM and changes to white somewhere. There were 2 yellow wires that both had grey rings on it that both acted the same when I pushed the door switch. Both wires were grounded when door was open and open when the door was closed. I hooked it to one of those wires. I turned on the autolight and shut the door. I remote started it and figured it would turn the headlights off, but it flashed the headlights twice and left them on while starting. What exactly is this wire supposed to do?

Thanks

Well I have found new information about the autolight shutdown function. It looks like this only works if your in idle or pitstop mode. This is what I have found on this: Auto Light Shutdown: When idle mode or pit stop mode is activated the EVO-ALL will automatically simulate the door opening to turn OFF the vehicle's auto-lights. WIth my system being a system which uses the factory remotes, I am not even sure if I can even get into idle down or pitstop mode. So this may not even be needed in my case. I will have to see if I can get into this mode using my factory remote. It looks like it needs a start button which I do not have. I use the lock button 3 time to start mine.

Well I have one more thing to mention about the autolight shutdown from the Fortin unit. I was reading on another forum and happen to come across this. The autolight function has to see the door open and close for it to work. IF the door does not open and close the lights will never cut off. Now I understand why the fortin unit needs this hookup to the door switch. I just tried mine by opening the door and counting and the lights stay on for 45 seconds. If I remote start it, I just noticed the lights come on nomally, but when I remote start it and then abort it, the light are not shuting off at all. I finally see why this autolight shutdown wire is so important. I need to figure out why this is not working on mine. The wire tested right, but another wire also tested right. I guess a need to find the correct wire and be done with this project. Boy I thought I was done, but maybe after this I will be.
