I'm going to get a remote start for my 2004 Jeep TJ soon and need help to decide what system and bypass to use.

The Jeep has no power door locks or anything, so wanted to have just a basic one-button remote. It does have a manual transmission.

I've narrowed it down to the Compustar PRO RF-1WBAM with a 6200 brain and blade ADS-AL bypass for the sentry key in the Jeep. The other option is the Viper Responder One 2-way, with a Fortin EVO-CHR bypass and DEI 689M for the manual trans compatibilty (I bought the 689M already, but can sell it if need be.) Or should I mix/match the bypasses/systems differently? I know the Compustar route would be more compact and not as many modules and has more options, but I do really like the remote on the Viper even though it is a more basic over-all system, and it's two-way.

I'd love to hear any recomendations and info please.

Thanks!

Another good one-button system is the Crimestopper RS1-G3.
http://www.crimestopper.com/Templates/rs1-g3.html
It also integrates perfectly with iDatalink or Fortin modules.
But the Viper Responder is nice because it's 2-way so it gives you confirmation that it's running if you can't see the car when you press the button.
For bypass modules I prefer iDatalink and Fortin.
If it doesn't have factory alarm or door locks, the ADS-AL or EVO-CHR is a bit overkill IMO.
You can get one that just handles the Sentry key immobilizer - iDatalink ADS-TB (ADS-BLADE TB if using the Compustar)
or Fortin INT-SL+

ah, I didn't notice the other bypasses would work and save a bit too, thank you!

The Fortin T-harness won't work with my 2004 TJ will it (it doesn't seem to in the install manual I found online, but wanted to be sure?)

Unfortunately the harnesses won't work for your TJ. They started using those from 2008-up.

Go with the Viper I have installed about 25 of them and every customer loves them! The Remotes last a long time and have an amazing range! You will not be disappointed!

I'm still undecided which to go with, the Compustar is about half the price once I include bypass/689M etc :(

The Compustar 6200S will work with manual transmission without needing the 689M.
Just add the Compustar remotes (RF1BAM), the ADS-TB or INT-SL+ bypass and you're good to go. 2004 jeep tj which system+bypass is best? -- posted image.

Looks like both will be about the same price in the end.

For the Compustar, the only way I can set the options I want is to get an OP500. Which in the end makes both the Viper system with a 689M and this Compustar the same price...

I hate deciding on this stuff! lol... ;)

Anyone use the FT-DAS from Compustar? It looks to be a decent backup safety for manual transmissions?
