Hi Guys.

I just installed a 5704...  it was working fine i was able to program new remotes. But just before putting the car back together the alarm keeps flashing 5x in MTS mode.  I've checked and double checked all the wiring the brake wire is fine and not active when going into MTS mode.

So i tried to ZAP the alarm with the bitwriter.  Now i cant get the unit to get back into alarm pair mode.

I've tried

1, open door

2 press and release command button.  press and hold commmand button.

nothing happens.

Ps.  programing wise everything worked till i zapped the unit.

1) Do you have LED brake lights?
2) Never use a Bitwriter in panic, I never need one and I'm now doing about 2+ 5X04s a week.
3) You should be able to restore or unzap the unit, by unlocking remote access via the Bitwriter then relearning the remotes.
No disrespect but as far as I'm concerned, giving any one but experienced pros access to Bitwriter, ESP, Wizard etc. is like giving a 4 year old an assault rifle.

Once sorted, try this on the brake line:-

how howie... your always a life saver..

Problem is after zapping a unit.   You cannot use the bitwriter to save any settings without any remotes programed into the unit. How do you actually unzap a unit?  I've never seen that option

I haven't used a Bitwriter for 3 years but here goes.
Make sure the unit is seeing a ground on H2/6 when the door is open OR ground it temporarily.
Make sure it sees 12V+ on H3/1 when you turn on the ignition.
Reprogram remotes.
Then go into Bitwriter and unlock it.

the door wires are connected and the ignition wire.

I push the valet button once, then press and hold the button and nothing happens

Open door,  turn ignition to ON, Press and release, then press hold. Should get one flash from the LED and a chirp from the siren. Release the button and pair the remote to the unit.    Remote must be setup to be paired also.

I usually set the remote up first and then setup the brain.

If you are turning on the ignition while pressing the button is incorrect.  Turn ignition to ON,  then press button.....
